Shade Tree Board addresses storm damage, permit disputes

NJ MADISON — Madison Shade Tree Board addresses July rainstorm damage and multiple tree permit violations. The board completed cleanup from the July 3 storm that caused major tree damage, with Department of Public Works handling major concerns. Chair Gene Cracovia and Arborist Rich Wolowicz will address three permit disputes: over-removal at 4 Fairwood, neighbor dispute at 55 Sherwood, and approval of 10 Norway Spruce removal at 7 Independence Court.

The board is launching review of Giralda 3 development project with 238 trees marked for removal against 255 proposed replacements, reporting in August. The board also authorized a "Meet Your Arborist" educational program for fall at the library.
