Parks panel backs Peace Pole, renames Rose Park for Coultas

NJ MADISON — Madison parks panel unanimously backs Peace Pole placement and Rose Park renaming. The Parks Advisory Committee unanimously approved endorsing placement of a Peace Pole in James Park in partnership with the Madison Rotary and unanimously recommended renaming Rose Park in honor of volunteer Cathie Coultas. The committee also approved placement of a plaque at the Memorial Park Barn recognizing Coultas' leadership of the Nature Nuts program.

Members reviewed the 2025 Parks Planning recommendations and discussed additional park improvements including Niles Avenue trail development and Memorial Park Barn completion.
