Madison sustainability projects advance on multiple fronts

NJ MADISON — Madison sustainability committee charts progress on multiple environmental fronts. The Sustainable Madison Advisory Committee reported that its EV shuttle bus grant project has obtained its NJ Business Registration Certificate, removing a major procurement obstacle and bringing the project closer to deployment. The board distributed a $2,000 Sustainable Jersey grant that Pam Hogan and Kirsten Wallenstein accepted to support a Native Shrub Swap program managed by the Madison Environmental Commission, targeting 15 residents with native plantings.
The borough is considering Local Government Energy Audits for eight municipal buildings, while schools continue pursuing a power purchase agreement for solar installation.
