Madison sustainability committee onboards new members, tracks active grants

NJ MADISON — Sustainable Madison advisory committee welcomes new members, funds environmental initiatives. The Sustainable Madison Advisory Committee welcomed regular members Susan Bailey and Anna Bradshaw, who identified priority action areas in waste management, composting, native plants, and community gardens. The committee is managing multiple active grants including a $2,000 Sustainable Jersey/PSEG Native Shrub Swap project submitted by committee member Pam Hogan on February 13, a $10,000 electric landscaping equipment grant expected spring/summer, and a $5,000 application from the Shade Tree Management Board for a five-year community forestry plan.
Committee members will identify mentors from current and past membership to assist the new members with their chosen sustainability initiatives.
