NJ MADISON — Madison Shade Tree Board approves spring planting program for 90 trees, awards maintenance contract. Vice Chair Judy Honohan submitted orders for 90 trees with April 15 delivery and planting through May 15, while Member George Limbach marked 90 sites after evaluating 280 potential locations. The board awarded the 2026 tree maintenance contract to Honor Tree and designated May 2 as Arbor Day for the 41st Tree City USA award.
The spring program is testing smaller tree varieties and comparing container-grown versus balled-and-burlapped specimens to improve survival rates.
