NJ MADISON — Madison Planning Board approved a mixed-income supportive and affordable housing project at 1 Giralda Farms. The board voted 8-0 to approve Madison Housing LP's amended site plan combining 23 supportive-housing units and 18 affordable family units. The supportive units serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities; the affordable family units include one-, two- and three-bedroom units.
Bergen County's United Way will develop and manage the project. The plan was revised after State financing guidelines required mixed-income development rather than 100% supportive housing. In separate action, the board voted 7-1 to deny a minor subdivision at 11 Walnut Street, finding the proposed development too intensive for undersized lots.
